Job Summary REPORTS TO: AVP, Actuary ~ Financial Planning & Analysis
MassMutual's Financial Planning and Analysis Division has an opening for a creative, math-oriented, analytical individual who will join our team of financial professionals.
This position will be responsible for:
Forecasting investment results for MM entities. Includes a basic understanding of all asset types and more in depth understanding of certain asset types. Also includes a basic understanding of portfolio management.
Monitor monthly income, assets, and earnings rates - in general and relative to the prior accounting periods and Plan. Review and analyze quarterly and year-end results. Results include statutory and GAAP GII, investment expenses, assets, IMR, capital gains, etc.
Develop, enhance, document, and maintain MoSes, Axis, Excel, and Access computer programs & systems to support the investment financial projection a! nd monitoring work.
Provide data and financial analysis to the! Strategic Businesses, Corporate, and Babson Capital as needed to support research and analysis.
Consult with actuaries, investment professionals, accounting professionals, and others to understand issues and solve problems.
Role Characteristics Handles complex long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines or business units
Works independently and with management on high visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects
Sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems
Advances the interest of the company by serving on teams that are external to the organization when appropriate
Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
Individual typically has at least 8+ yrs of related experience
Job Responsibilities & Requirements 4 year college degree, preferably in Math. 5+ years of related business experience. Very strong math, an! alytical, and problem solving skills. Very strong PC skills with a proficiency in Excel and Access. MoSes/TAS, Axis and SAP experience, a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the financial aspects of investments and/or products. Customer service focus. Ability to respond well to changes in direction and deadlines. Aptitude test required
