JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is hiring a full-time Immuniz! ation Information System Support Associate to provide roll out and user support to the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS) DPH. This is an opportunity to work on a dynamic team combining both IT and non-technical program staff in the development and implementation of the statewide immunization registry in the Immunization Program of the Bureau of Infectious Disease Prevention, Response, and Services of the DPH. The Associate will assist the JSI Project Manager with the statewide roll-out of the MIIS Registry to health care professionals and provide technical assistance to end users (providers). Note: This position is based at the DPH in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is a contract award specific employment arrangement which means employment is provided for period of contract only (currently through June 2014, but anticipate will be extended.) Authorization to work in the US required. Salary range for the position is $45,000 - 57,000. Salary commensurate with exper! ience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work as part of the ! programmatic team and closely with the MIIS IT team at DPH to support the roll-out of the MIIS.
Assist in the outreach, recruitment and registration of health care providers to join the MIIS.
Serve as first line of communication and support for end users as part of the MIIS User Support Team and MIIS Help Desk.
Work closely with health care providers to integrate the MIIS into their clinical practice.
Assist in the outreach, recruitment and registration of health care providers to join the MIIS.

Assist in the development of outreach, user, and training materials.
Lead trainings on the MIIS either in-person or via Webinar to teach end users how to use the system at their clinical practice.
Represent the MIIS and give presentations at meetings, seminars, and conferences across Massachusetts.
Adhere and con! tribute to the standard operating procedures of the MIIS User Support Team and MIIS Help Desk.
Perform other tasks as needed to support the programmatic and IT development and roll-out of the MIIS.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Education: Masterâs degree in public health or a related field required.
Experience: Two - three years of professional level experience. At least one of these years must be within a health, public health, or medical setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with pediatric health care provider issues, the immunization field, health IT, and the application of health care reform policy.
Experience tracking and analyzing Help Desk support issues in a public health setting.
Experience communicating and working with technical support staff to troubleshoot and provide support to end users.
Ability to effectively communicate and provid! e technical assistance to end users with varying levels of IT experienc! e and knowledge.
Facility in learning new technologies and applying them to project work.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to interact with leaders of state government, other government agencies, non-profit organizations, health care providers and their associated organizations.
Comfortable working independently.
Demonstrate a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and execute work with superb attention to detail.
An energetic, self-starter who can work as part of a team with limited supervision.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving to locations throughout Massachusetts.
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
