Experience Necessary
Responsibilities include the following: -Responsible for all xray and lab follow ups -Possible patient complaint follow u! p -Handle standard follow up. -All reportables (gunshot, burns knife dog bites) -Liaison with physician offices -Make calls to patients who were in department regarding quality of care -Make calls for specific patients at the request of RN/physician -Follow up with COC on cases of abuse, and work closely with Patient Advocacy for specific ED issues -Follow up regarding compliance on restraint documentation -Documentation follow up -Participation in performance improvement initiatives as identified per department needs. POSITION SUMMARY: The Emergency Department Staff RN under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and Director performs/supervises services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care. POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES: The Emergency Department Staff RN is responsible for assessment, planning, imp! lementation and evaluation of treatment for all patients in an! y age group that present to the Emergency Department. The RN will be educated in all areas of the ED, Triage, Cardiac, Trauma, Medical, admission holds and Fast Track. They promote philosophy, mission and values of LGH. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, she/he provides effective communication and collaborates with coworkers, physicians and other departments and outside agencies.
