Position Summary

Direct the orderly seating of guests, the collection of tickets, and answer inquiries concerning the building, event, and other information. Perform other necessary usher functions including attend event briefing, scan customers tickets, maintain order in the aren! a, keep aisles and egress areas clear, operate elevators durin! g events, secure restricted areas of the building, and work closely with supervisors to identify and resolve issues. Interact with clients and guests to provide front-line customer service and assistance. Ensure all facility, guest and employee policies are adhered to during events as well as ensure personal compliance with working terms and conditions in Collective Bargaining Agreement. Coordinate with supervisors and management to ensure compliance with all front-of-house details. Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Required Qualifications:

Familiarity with pediatric health care provider issues, the immunization field, health IT, and the application of health care reform policy.

Experience tracking and analyzing Help Desk support issues in a public health setting.

Experience communicating and working with technical support staff to troubleshoot and provide support to end users.

Ability to effectively communicate and provid! e technical assistance to end users with varying levels of IT experienc! e and knowledge.

Facility in learning new technologies and applying them to project work.

Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to interact with leaders of state government, other government agencies, non-profit organizations, health care providers and their associated organizations.

Comfortable working independently.

Demonstrate a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and execute work with superb attention to detail.

An energetic, self-starter who can work as part of a team with limited supervision.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving to locations throughout Massachusetts.

The Network Optimization Solutions Engineer (SE) is the primary presales technical resource for the Terra product line and provides technical leadership in the Hybrid Network or Network as a Service space. The SE is capable of advising on and configuring all Akamai's network optimization solutions for the purpose of Demo and Proof-of-Concept environments. Responsibilities:
The Solutions Engineer uses networking and Internet expertise and analysis skills to drive revenue and customer satisfaction by:

  • Leading the technical pre-sales process and qualifying the opportunity.
  • Understanding the customer business needs.
  • ! Creating a solution with the customer using Akamai's technology.
  • Proving the customer solution.
  • Transitioning the customer.
  • Effective communications all around.
  • Self-improvement.
  • Providing product feedback and guidance into new product and service offerings.
The details are:
  • Work closely with sales representatives to educate existing and prospective customers on how they can incorporate Akamai network optimization solutions into their architecture and operations to derive business value.
  • Manage the technical pre-sales process and evangelize Akamai network optimization solutions to customers by participating in conference calls, site visits (up to 50%), presentations, product demonstrations, technical trial evaluations and proof concepts, technical objection handling, creating proposals, answering RFI/RFPs, and any needed customer follow up activities.
  • Define the technical aspects o! f customer proposals, meeting customer requirements and Akamai quality ! control standards.
  • Coordinate with Sales and other members of High Tech Services and Support to transition customers from the pre-sales to implementation phase, provide post sale product and service consultation, and provide post sale value confirmation.
  • Work closely with Product Management and related subject matter experts to understand and influence product roadmaps, providing valuable input from the field/customer perspective.
  • Strive to contribute to the Enterprise team and Akamai by improving processes and sharing knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of leadership by actively developing and mentoring new hires within the Services and Sales organizations.
  • Reports to a Service Line Manager in High Tech Division.
  • Must be willing to travel in the US and internationally, up to 50%.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related techn! ical field or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical pre-sales/sales engineering, consulting, and/or other customer facing role consulting on, delivering or supporting technical products or services.
  • Extensive Knowledge of IP Networking: in-depth conceptual and hands-on understanding and design in local and wide area networking, routing, Firewalls, load balancers, and switching.
  • Extensive experience of Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, UDP, Web design, browsers, and Servers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with WAN optimization appliances and application delivery networks.
  • Experience with enterprise and data center network topology, system design and operation, including infrastructure design and build out, caching proxies, routing, switching and load balancing.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification o! r equivalent.
  • Knowledge of web programming (HTML, JavaScript, ! ASP, JSP).
  • Familiarity with technologies like: J2EE (using Tomcat and/or WebSphere) or .NET architecture, Web Services (SOAP, XML), Configuring webservers (Apache, IIS) and the infrastructure necessary to support a dynamic website (load balancers, connecting to databases, etc), SQL and databases.
  • Experience in a customer facing role requiring a high level of individual responsibility, sound business judgment, and large enterprise account management, where an aptitude for improving customer satisfaction was successfully demonstrated.
  • Experience managing a high volume of activity, and a large number of projects, in a fast-paced growing organization. Ability to self-manage and prioritize workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical and business related subjects to all audiences, from the user to the executive level.
  • Must be enthusiastic, action oriented, capable of ! independently solving complex technical problems and able to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships.

The Health Technician (Optometry) position will be located Veteran Affairs Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System, Leeds, MA. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Generate consults per doctor's orders;

Schedule appointments utilizing a computerize software program;

Document all clinical information in electronic medical records;

Explain procedures to patients and position patients and cushion and/or shield patients for pro! cedures;

Determine patient's eligibility;

Perform var! ious eye examinations;

Assist with selection, fitting, adjusting, repairing, ordering of eye glasses;

Perform diagnostic testing per written order from Optometrists;

Store and forward teleretinal images for diabetic candidates;

Use digital imaging technology to perform a full range of diagnostic and treatment procedures including occasional non-routine processes;

Inventory and order clinical supplies;

Operate and maintain Optometric equipment;

Maintain proper records for quality control reports and/or workload;

Determine patient's eligibility;

And other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8AM - 4:30PM

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
THIS POSITION REQUIRES: One year of specialized experience that required and application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of this po! sition. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level of Federal service. Examples of related experience include: perform optometry diagnostic examinations; screen patients; enter consults; perform fundus photography; store and forward teleretinal images; assist with selection, fitting, adjusting, repairing, ordering, and dispensing of eyewear; administer eye drops; knowledge of medical terminology; and ability to communicate with individual with various level of understanding. (*Your experience must be detailed in your resume to receive full credit.)

Half a year (usually 9 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of this position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 seme! ster hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time s! tudy requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Knowledge of medical terminology including abbreviations, meanings, and spelling to read medical reports to determine patient's status for eligibility and to determine adjunct conditions

Knowledge of normal ocular anatomy and common ocular pathology associated with diabetes and/or aging, e.g., cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy.

Knowledge of eyewear.

Knowledge of photographic activities connected to all phases of the retinal imaging program and use of digital imaging technology.

Ability to coordinate the day to day operation of the Imaging Clinic.

Ability to communicate and work with individuals with varying levels of understanding

Knowledge of the rules and guidelines for protecting sensitive information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work involves various physical demands requiring the employee to be versatil! e in the many functions performed. These include sedentary work perform! ed at a desk with intermittent standing, walking, bending, lifting of lightweight records and supplies (rarely exceeding 25 pounds). The demands may be unpredictable requiring the incumbent to adjust accordingly. May be required to assist in transporting and transferring patients from wheelchair or stretcher and the examination environment. Will be responsible for moving imaging/ophthalmic equipment as necessary. Must be alert to patient's physical/mental needs, e.g., low blood sugar or stress of significant systemic/ocular disease, and take appropriate action. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well with fellow staff members, using appropriate communication skills.

Emotional Demands:
Work requires that employees maintain composure and a calm, polite manner at all time. The employee will exhibit an unbiased and non-judgmental attitude in working with patients, families, and visitors.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a bus! y outpatient clinic setting. Imaging takes place in a very dark environment, behind closed doors. Outside noise interference is reduced to a minimum. Work is also performed within full view and hearing of patients and the general public. There are moderate risks that require safety precautions. These may involve stress, verbal or physical abuse caused by a disturbed or agitated patient or family member. Employee is subject to exposure of communicable diseases and/or patients with diabetes or other systemic or ocular disease. Patients may also have adaptive or life supporting equipment. The use of personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, gloves and protective clothing is required. Will have exposure to biohazard materials and sharps, and will have close association with highly technical equipment.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
Applicants will be ranked based on four quality groups, as follows:

Best qualified - applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are highly proficient in all requirements of the job and can perform effectively in the position;

Highly qualified - applicants possessing experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in most of the requirements of the job;

Well qualified - applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position including all selective factors, and who are proficient in some, but not all, of the requirements of the job; and

Qualified - applicants possessing experience and/or education that meets the minimum quali! fications of the position including all selective factors.

After the vacancy announcement closes, reviewed applications are evaluated against the questionnaire responses and placed in the appropriate quality group. Qualified veterans will be afforded preference by being placed at the top of the appropriate quality group. Qualifying veterans with a service-connected disability of 10% or more will be placed at the top of the best qualified group.
