Job Summary
Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood is looking for a capable, dynamic, detail oriented, committed person to help us in our mission to reclaim childhood from corporate marketers and reduce children's screen time. This full-time, benefited position is a wonderful opportunity for someone committed to a career in social justice.
The CCFC Project Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance and administrative support to the CCFC Director and Associate Director in implementing initiatives to raise public awareness about the harms associated with screen time and marketing to children, and initiating campaigns to stop the commercial exploitation of children. Day-to-day responsibilities are varied (please see essential duties! and responsibilities, below).
Key Job Elements
D! esign web materials and e-communications to members such as newsletters and action alerts.
Assist in implementing and publicizing campaigns to stop egregious marketing practices, to raise awareness about the harmful effects of marketing to children and excessive screen time, and to support legislation that limits corporate marketers' access to children.
Research issues and topics related to CCFC's campaigns and projects.
Provide administrative support as needed, including management and purchasing of office supplies, copying and printing, meeting scheduling, and arranging travel.
Regularly update CCFC website with coalition news and events as well as important marketing developments.
Oversee financial accounting and records, including donation deposits and invoice payments.
Maintain and update accurate database of CCFC members and press contacts.
Assist as requested in the planning and organization of CCFC's ann! ual Summit and other events.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Project management skills.
Research skills.
Editing skills, including copy editing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Drupal and Adobe programs including, Photoshop, and Fireworks preferred.
Familiarity with the Salsa Labs interface preferred.
Graphic design skills and experience with digital editing preferred.
Takes initiative.
Flexible.
Able to juggle multiple tasks and learn new skills.
Able to work well both collaboratively and independently.
Degree in child development, psychology, or communication/media studies preferred.
Interest in social activism and the commercialization of childhood.
Must be able to work in our Boston offic! e. Telecommuting will not be considered.
Salary and Hours

This is a full-time, benefited position. Salary: $35,000 annually.
