KEY REQUIREMENTS

You will be subject to a background/suitability investigation.

DUTIES:
The position ! is located administratively in the Sterilization and
Processing Service for the Nursing Service. The position is
located at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Roxbury, Ma. Some
of the duties are as follows;

Performing duties associated
with the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, distribution,
storage and ordering of all instruments and equipment for the section;

Collecting and reviewing
daily instrument quality control data and graphing results maintaining
oversight of inventory quantities;

Maintaining data and sharing
with SPS/Logistics services for trend analysis;

Determining employee
training needs, developing personal learning plans, tracking employee
training progress and requirements, developing and maintaining competency
assessments;

Developing plans to enhance
patient flow through the operating rooms; studying workload data,
quantities of instru! ments required, turn-around time for processed
instruments, etc.;
Planning the work of
subordinate employees; setting and adjusting priorities and preparing
schedules for completion of work;

Assigning work based on
priorities, difficulty of tasks and capabilities of employees; evaluating
work accomplished;

Giving advice, counsel and
instruction to employees; resolving minor/serious complaints or grievances
and referring complex problems to a higher level supervisor; effecting
minor/major disciplinary measures as needed;

Interviewing candidates for
positions within the unit, recommending appointments, promotions or
reassignments; recommending awards and bonuses as appropriate;

Performing other duties as
assigned.

Work Schedule: 1(one) position shift hours are 7:30am to 4pm, the other position shift hours are 3:30pm to 12am (midnight). The positions are with rotation to off tours; days, evenings, nights and weekend. Must be flexible.

! Selectees may be required to work at any Boston Healthcare system as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
THE POSITION REQUIRES:
One (1) year of
specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills
and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is
typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be
creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the
next lower grade level in Federal service. Examples of specialized experience
include: working in sterilization and processing, processing
and distribution of equipment and instruments in a medical facility that
includes; applying aseptic techniques; decontamination, sterile preparation,
and preparing reusable medical equipment by sterilizing and processing for
distribution; planning wor! k to be accomplished and setting priorities; ability
to supervise e! mployees; collecting and compiling data; and developing and
maintaining quality management systems for sterilization processing, and
distribution. (*To receive credit for these skills they must be documented in
your application/resume.)

SUBSTITUTION OF

EDUCATION:
one and one/half full years of progressively higher level graduate education
from an accredited institution in a related field of study that demonstrates
your ability to perform the duties of this position? Eighteen (18) semester
hours is usually considered as satisfying 1 year of full-time study. (*If you
answer yes to this question, transcripts are required.)

COMBINATION:
A combination of
specialized experience and graduate education as described that demonstrates
your ability to perform the duties of this position? Only graduate education in
excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level! may be used to

required.)

You will be rated on the following Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other characteristics (KSAOs) as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

Knowledge
of management principles, regulations, policies, procedures and duties to plan,
direct and coordinate the complexities of a sterilization and processing unit

Ability
to supervise, perform administrative and personnel management functions for a
sterilization and processing unit

Knowledge
in sterilization practices used to determine the methods and procedures for the
sterilization of a wide variety of sophisticated and technical surgical and
medical instruments and supplies, also knowledge of recommendations with
respect to environment of care, safet! y, infection control and maintenance of
sterility, decontamination,! and assembly of instruments

Knowledge
of assessing, monitoring, developing and assisting with implementation of
corrective action plans for instruments and reusable medical equipment by
processing, decontamination, sterilization, and

biological monitoring

Ability
to effectively communicate, negotiate, problem solve and team build

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The
work requires walking, standing, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds. The
activity demands of the day may be both mentally and physically
stressful. Work is performed in various areas of patient and non-patient
care which involves moderate risks or discomforts and may require special
safety precautions. Incumbent will be working around moving equipment, carts
and machines. Incumbent will be required to use protective clothing in
particular areas (i.e. sterile room, operating room, and warehouse) such as
masks, safety shoes, sho! e covers, goggles, and gloves.

Position Summary

Associates in our Client and Advisory Services will ha! ve a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: !

  • Providing support for detailed due diligence on private equity fund, direct investment, co-investment and secondary investment opportunities, including quantitative and qualitative performance analysis;
  • Performing extensive financial analysis and modeling in a variety of private equity related areas including asset allocation, investment pacing, risk management and valuation;
  • Analyzing investment manager, fund and portfolio company financial statements;
  • Completing in-depth market, competitor and strategy research;
  • Drafting investment memoranda and preparing other reports and financial analysis;
  • Maintaining our investment database;
  • Assisting with ad-hoc analysis and report requests from clients relating to private equity; and
  • Interacting with clients, general partners and other industry participants;

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Associate position will have three to five years of work experience at an investment bank, investment management or finance-oriented consulting or advisory firm. Candidates possessing an MBA or CFA are strongly preferred. Additionally, candidates should possess the following key attributes:

  • Communication skills: Written and verbal communication with clients, investment managers and within a team is extremely important. Candidates must be comfortable interfacing with colleagues, clients and investment managers and be able to articulate complex issues both verbally and in writing.

Build and maintain good relationships with key decision makers within assigned account(s) and keep them informed of the program’s progress
  • Participate in hospital’s Green Teams and Environment of Care Committees.
  • Provide regular updates on our progress to internal Stericycle teammates and the customer.
  • Look for new opportunities to reduce cost and improve our performance.
Ensure hospital waste streams are managed in a safe and compliant manner:
  • Remain up-to-date and knowledgeable on eac! h of the regulations associated with the waste stream we manage (i.e., EPA, DOT, OSHA, The Joint Commission and any other state or local regulations)
  • Train hospital personnel on the regulatory requirements of the waste streams we manage (i.e., DOT).
  • Utilize Integrated Waste Compliance Specialist(s) for annual compliance audits.
  • Proactively work with the customer to address compliance concerns in a helpful and consultative manner.
Ensure Stericycle gross profit goals are achieved
  • Reduce Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) (training & container placement).
  • Reduce the price of services (manage vendor charges).
  • Reduce service expense (i.e., reduced pulls).
  • Successful waste diversion (i.e., solid waste out of RMW, recycling material out of solid waste).
  • Proactively look for new ways or services to increase the profitability of the program (i.e. composting, recycling medical equipment, etc.).
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction with the program so Stericycle is! well positioned for future renewals.

    May be responsible for selecting, training, and developing an effective and efficient staff where applicable.

    May supervisor or provide input to assigned Stericycle Service Specialists’ performance, by performing periodic “shadowing”, ensuring that they perform their functions in a safe and productive manner.

    Review payroll hours to ensure overtime hours are necessary and all team members are working efficiently.

    Position Requirements:
    Education equivalent to High School diploma, college degree preferred.

    Five or more year’s related experience or training in a hospital environment, demonstrating strong communication, training experience or equivalent in related work required.

    Demonstrates the ability to plan and supervise the work of others.

    Demonstrates knowledge of the Joint Commission, EPA, DOT and OSHA standards and regulations.

    Demonstrates k! nowledge of Microsoft Office Products; Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

But at BAO, that is exactly what our average performers make per year. Here are the facts: In 2011, 23% of our inside sales representatives (ISRs) made under $50,000, 50% of our ISRs made between $50,000 and $80,000, and 17% of our ISRs made between $80,000 and $100,000, and 10% of our ISRs made over $100,000. Our top earner in 2011 made over $154,600ISRs who have 12-24 months tenure with BAO, average earnings were over $60,239ISRs who have been employed at BAO for more than one year have had average earnings that ranged from $67,035 (2010); $64,257 (2009) to $77,685 (2008). In 2011, a veteran (over 1 year on the phone) ISRs average earnings were $68,104 versus $67,023 in 2010. Over 77% of our veteran ISRs made over $50K.The average rookie in 2011 earned $44,463 while the top rookie earned $72,524.Our top ISR made over $121,000 In addition to the full-time position status; employees of BAO enjoy a position working normal business hours, no nights, no we! ekends, and no travel. We offer full benefits with Tufts Medic! al, Delta Dental, Life, Long and Short Term Disability, 25 paid days off. We are located in a Class A office space right off Routes 93 and 495 in Andover in a friendly and supportive work environment with on-site cafeteria, fitness facility and free parking.This inside sales position has a base salary of $32,500 with commissions paid on a bi-weekly basis and commissions paid monthly.
