Professional customer service - consistently practiced in person and by telephone with students, their parents and members o! f other departments on campus.
Advise students/families regarding account activity and payment options.
Perform diligent follow-up on missing or late payments from students/families.
Enforce collection procedures that are fair and consistent in accordance with office guidelines.
Maintenance of accurate Student Account information
Provide quality customer service at the service window and over the telephone in a timely and accurate manner.
Open, sort and distribute daily incoming mail.
Process receipt requests.
Process refunds.
Assist the Collections Manager with student loan related activity as the operation demands.
Participate in registering students and collecting payments at orientations and the arena walk in registration process.
Perform collection duties on accounts as determined by the Assistant Bursar.
View, analyze and respond to all incoming email inquiries ! received via the general office email box and the individual e! mail box.
Skill in listening, anticipating, and responding to the needs of customers to achieve excellent customer service measured by outcomes rather than activities.
Assist in the administration of payment plan processing and negotiation of payment arrangements.
Skill in identifying the customerâs perspective and maintaining a commitment to excellence in customer service.
Send confirmation/notification for electronic loan proceeds received and maintain related data.
Releasing financial holds.
Assist with all mass communications as determined by the Bursar.
Perform other related tasks as the operation demands.
Requirements: 1 to 2 years customer service experience preferably in another institutionsâ Bursar or Student Accounts offices. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to refocus on priorities in a fast paced, mu! lti task, high volume environment. Knowledge of Mainframe Database System Software â" Datatel Colleague preferred. Ability to function well under pressure and maintain a pleasant customer service attitude. A high level of diplomacy, tact and confidentiality. Capability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision. Knowledge of personal computers and applications including but not limited to spreadsheets, word processing and general internet processing.
