In this capacity, Product Managers are responsible for making product functionality decisions from th! e beginning of requirements through the life of the product. Expertise in HR and talent management including recruitment, performance management, succession planning, compensation and communications solutions is critical to succeed in this position. The Product Manager is responsible for the delivery of a product, which meets customer expectations and supports the Companyâs business objectives for the product.
Primary Duties:
- Own the âconceptual designâ for the product in the early part of the product life cycle. The conceptual design should provide a functional overview for the product and the objective the product seeks to achieve during it lifetime. This involves developing and maintaining requirements documents.
- Develops and maintains the product delivery plan and calendar based on product requirements, application expertise, and knowledge of Development resources and constraints. Creating the delivery plan requires determinin! g the subset of functions to be delivered in various scheduled! releases.
- Manages the consolidation of deliverables, in addition to the product delivery plan. Deliverables include the software, documentation, beta program, training materials
- Assumes overall ownership for deciding which bugs/enhancements should be fixed per release. Doing this successfully requires an active role in all phases of a release from initiation to launch.
- Writes functional specifications for new features and enhancements to the product.
- Develop Product Specification documentation and other related material on âhowâ the product will work. This documentation will be used as internal training tool for all departments.
- Educate internal departments on the business purposes behind the features of the product, both in advance of and upon product delivery.
- Work with internal departments (i.e. Professional Services, Marketing, Sales, Support) to ensure that the product functionality that is delivered results in! a sellable and usable product that meets customer expectations.
- Works with other Product Managerâs to ensure integrated functionality from a requirements and delivery availability perspective.
- Responsible for staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments affecting the products for which s/he has responsibility.
- Excellent application knowledge in credit management and overall credit industry experience.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Very good verbal communication skills.
- Previous Product Management and/or Project Management skills required.
- Marketing awareness
- Good technical aptitude. This does not refer to programming capability but to an ability to understand technical cost factors, read design documents, etc.
- Good overall knowledge of the Companyâs business model â" how we sell, how customers derive value from our products, etc.
- Organizational skills
