The Marketing Operations Analyst will manage the data collection and reporting function within a growing Marketing Operations group responsible for supporting the ! Global Marketing Organization - including Field Marketing, Product Marketing and Corporate Marketing. Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Improve Marketing’s effectiveness through the development and implementation of reports, key performance metrics, and dashboards. This includes generating weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing performance reports such as campaign performance reports, lead to opportunity conversion reports (waterfall metrics), marketing forecasts, and quarterly business reports.
Build and manage the reporting environment and cadence that will support the timely distribution of reports to all Marketing stakeholders. This includes working closely with Marketing Management to gather reporting requirements. This also includes working closely with the Field Execution team and our third parties (program execution partners) to optimize the reporting environment and help improve data quality
Collect data from! multiple sources (ie. Eloqua, Salesforce.com, MFGpro), and fr! om Sales Operations to help correlate critical data point s
Assist with the preparation of materials for operational reviews with executives and for Marketing QBRs
Provide ad-hoc reports through consultative engagements with various Marketing Managers synthesized from numerous sources, focused on actionable data
Provide timely insights and analytical support to different internal business customers to support effective business decision-making
The candidate must be able to synthesize results to business users in a concise and clear manner to demonstrate value and to influence decision-making. The position will straddle both the technical and business realms and the candidate must be comfortable operating in both domains.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable in thinking of the big picture, but also be detail oriented. They should enjoy making correlations between disparate pieces of information and at the same time ensure tha! t data integrity is maintained. They should be passionate about numbers, data and analytics and should thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. He or she must be willing to take charge and think creatively.
The skills and competency required to be successful in this position include the following; the ideal candidate must:
Have advanced experience with SQL, Microsoft Excel (including Macros), Microsoft Access and other business intelligence, dashboard, and analytics tools. Working knowledge of CRM platforms such as Eloqua or Salesforce.com and business intelligence and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and Xcelsius Engage is preferred.
Have experience working with large and complex databases, including data warehouses and databases that support various corporate systems
Have strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data, draw conclusions, an! d develop actionable recommendations.
Be very detailed-oriente! d and organized
Combine creative and pragmatic use of insight and data with attention to detail
Ability to work at all levels including senior management; and across multiple functions/departments
Confident with learning new tools and technologies
Small company experience with hands on / can-do mindset
Proactive not reactive, with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Business Administrations, Finance, or Accounting; MBA a plus
8+ years experience working in Finance, Business Operations, Sales Operations or Marketing Operations; 2-4 years working for an enterprise software company is preferred
