Purpose of the job
Maintain The Langham, Boston standards in the guest rooms and on all guest floors. primary responsibilities
- Make su! re all supply closets are neatly and properly filed with correct amounts of linen and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and neatness of supply closets; with doors closed at all times.
- Responsible for cleanliness of elevator area: wipe down elevator doors and frames; clean all pictures and frames; wipe down table, lamp, phone and mirror areas.
- Vacuum hallways by 3:00 PM daily.
- Clean ice machine areas.
- Ensure that service areas are kept clean with all floors properly mopped.
- Responsible for delivery and removal of cots, irons, ironing boards, and cribs in guest rooms. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constantly check with Housekeepers to find out what dirty rooms need to be stripped of linens and trash.
- Empty vacuum bags as needed and be sure vacuums are working properly.
- Special projects â€" may include: deep cleaning of service area (wipe down walls, clean shelving); clean guest room doors; clean basebo! ards; deep clean linen closets (remove all linens and clean sh! elves and floors).
- Additional duties not mentioned above may also be requested by supervisor.

education/experience/general requiements/required physical, mental abilities
- Experience in hotel will help but not necessary.
- Be able to communicate in a professional manner with guest and employees.
- Use oral communication to perform work, e.g. answer telephone, radios.
- Use written (visual/ verbal) sources of information, e.g. read reports, procedural documentation, reference material.
- Be able to walk, kneel, reach, bend, work on feet for 8 hours, lift/carry and pull/push up to 40 lbs.
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Make minor decisions requiring limited judgment, e.g. task sequencing.
- Make general decisions in the absence of specific directions, e.g. prioritizing task
