Department Law Operations & Technology Support Unit

Job Summary This position will provide support ! to the Law Operations & Technology Support Unit. The primary areas of responsibility include providing overall budget and expense coordination, legal fee processing and electronic billing support and analysis for the main Law Department. The position involves routine communication with all levels of Law Department personnel, including senior leadership. Will be responsible for determining best practices and assisting with the development of process improvements and resolving issues relating to business operations.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:
Primary budget and expense planning responsibilities include:
Coordination and development of annual planning for Law to include all SAP/BW budget entry Work with cost center level managers to develop/set cost center level budgets Perform divisional monthly SAP maintenance and provide updated quarterly/YE forecasting Knowledge and use of COGNOS to provide monthly budget r! eports Develop and maintain quarterly reports and variance explanations! for all major line codes to cost center heads & CFO Gather and analyze expense detail in order to provide variance reporting/YE forecasting to management and CFO as needed Provide detailed analysis and reporting of YTD/monthly/quarterly activity with year-over-year comparisons Perform monthly SAP expense and salary maintenance for all Law cost centers Provide accurate monthly legal fee accrual entry and expense adjustments into SAP Track and report on corporate legal fee reserve and other corporate legal fee matter activity Perform monthly General Ledger verification submission Knowledge and use of Pinnacle system to track and report on cost center level chargeback expense detail Maintain Law Department staffing and provide accurate FTE reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis Communicate results and budget detail to management as requested/necessary Attend expense management meetings and act as liaison between CFO and Law regarding any budget related activity/projects.

Primary electronic billing responsibilities include: the collection and aggregation of quarterly legal fees from business areas and primary subsidiaries; timekeeper entry and approvals; providing support to outside counsel firms in relation to billing practices; reviewing and processing legal invoices for approval and payment; resolving billing issues (internal and external); managing retention letters; processing W-9 forms; obtaining checks from Treasury as needed; and processing monthly accrual reports. Will also collect, research and analyze budget and billing data to respond to routine inquiries and generate periodic specialized reports.

Requirements:
3+ years of experience in budget and expense management Accounting, budgeting and financial reporting experience Experience with electronic billing processes and technology Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
