DEPARTMENT: Early Childhood
WORK SC! HEDULE: .6 FTE (22.5 hours a week) Hours flexible; some evening and Saturday mornings required

DUTIES: The Family Program Coordinator will:
Create, coordinate and implement programming that responds to needs of Springfield families and cultures, specifically for families with children 0 though 13.
The programs should:
- Reflect the priorities and strategies as defined in the Strengthening Families philosophy and adhere to the goals outlined in the
- Be coordinated with other city and school programming to create a network of resources and opportunities for Springfield
- Offer a continuum of activities and workshops that engage families at different stages of parenthood. (i.e. infants, young
- Give special attention to literacy and family literacy in p! rogramming offerings.

2. Teach and facilitate the programs. Mentor and evaluate other program facilitators.
3. Have experience working with families; have knowledge of child development.
4. Develop program evaluation protocols and satisfaction surveys for participating families.
5. Work collaboratively with community programs such as: Reach Out and Read, Springfield's Early Literacy Coalition, Springfield
City Libraries, Springfield Parent Academy, Healthy Families, Springfield Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program, Early
Intervention, Parent Child Home Program and other home visiting programs.
6. Attend weekly meetings with CFCE project manager and staff.
7. Assist in recruitment of hard to reach families.
8. Collect and record required d! ata for all funding sources including DEEC, the Funderâs Collaborative for Reading Success, the
Davis Foundation, etc.
9. Have experience supervising staff and coordinating community programs or classroom activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors degree in Education, Social work, Public Health, or equivalent discipline
2. Bi-lingual candidates highly preferred
3. Must have valid MA drivers license

$23,400 to $29,250 Per Year
