Responsibilities
The ! Digital Editor works closely with the acquisition editors to help inform them of budget requirements for their plans, and execute on a digital product launch for all key products to ensure everyone is aligned on expectations, budgets, responsibilities, and timelines.
The Digital Editor is responsible for aggregating product requirements for videos, simulations, etc from all the editors in order to negotiate the best vendor prices for work that may be required. This person will take the lead on creating any RFPs for outside vendor work. This person will ensure we have sound instructional design requirements for all of our products and will ensure there is consistency across discipline products where necessary. This person is required to effectively manage the overall budget of each individual digital project in Business & Technology.
In addition to working directly with editorial and marketing teams on specific digital projects, the Digital Editor also mana! ges broad initiatives across the Business & Technolgoy teams; strategies such as student test prep and assessment, badges and certifications, simulations, and mobile.
The Digital Editor is responsible for competitive information and market analysis for every key digital product. This person will seek out new technologies, stay abreast of industry innovations, and will be constantly looking for ways to improve student and instructor productivity and success in the various Business & technology skills disciplines. The Digital Editor will participate in pan-Pearson digital strategy teams. As part of this work the Digital Editor will report back to the overall Business & Technology team updating them on
Pearson digital initiatives, and inform them of other products being created
across the company.
This is a customer facing position that will require the Digital Editor to travel to campus several weeks throughout the year to meet with faculty and stude! nts in the Business & Technology disciplines, and to collaborate with t! he Business & Technology groups Editorial and Marketing teams to develop digital first product models and services that drive student and instructor success.
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
Several weeks of travel per semester to visit customers to evaluate their needs, figure out whatâs working with our current solutions, and figure out how to build the most effective skills solutions. Travel to appropriate conventions and any internal strategic meetings.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
A four-year college degree is required.
