IT SPECIALIST/WEB MAINTENANCE EXPERT, System Design and Management Program (SDM)/Leaders for Global Operations (LGO)/Engineering Systems Division! (ESD), to support the departmental computing environment (desktops, laptops, cell phones, printers, networks, telephony, etc.) and maintain the LGO/SDM website. IT consulting (75%) duties include identifying and suggesting ways to meet the needs of the user community; serving as liaison to other groups within IS&T; assisting in planning for future IT needs; setting up/configuring/troubleshooting/upgrading Mac and Windows desktops and laptops; configuring and troubleshooting iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile devices; printer set up and configuration; and providing set up/updates/consulting on the standard suite of MIT applications. Web duties (25%) include maintaining LGO and SDM public websites, responding to staff change/update requests, and maintaining and updating the LGO/SDM intranet with the IT manager. May serve as a project leader as assigned, manage and direct needs analysis, design and develop specific solutions and specifications, and troubleshoot comp! lex computing issues and problems.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; at least four years of experience providing IT client office support in an educational or business environment; extensive knowledge of and experience working with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and standard business applications, e.g., MS Office, Active Directory (AD), MS Exchange, browsers, etc.; good interpersonal and communication skills; experience maintaining websites in HTML; and a track record of achieving a high level of client satisfaction. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently are expected. Must be able to lift weights of up to 50 lbs. Familiarity with mobile devices (Android and iOS) and Altiris management software a plus, as is experience with MIT’s technology and infrastructure. Job #10368-N
