More details about this occupation opportunity kindly read the description below. Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and settles outside first party property claims. Interprets coverage on propert! y policies, determines liability, damages and legal issues. Contacts parties involved in the loss to develop and evaluate facts, secure statements, proofs of loss, and releases from claimants and other interested parties. Reviews invoices, receipts, financial records, leases, deeds, damage estimates, inventories, and other documents to ascertain the correct settlement amount. This will involve inspecting and photographing damaged real and personal property and preparing or arranging for the preparation of damage estimates.
Confers with attorneys, contractors, accountants, independent adjusters, public adjusters, salvors, and others. Interprets policy language in first party, property policies and negotiates settlements within granted settlement authority or makes recommendations based upon the facts developed. Completes all case activities in a timely manner while maximizing customer service and managing net loss payout. Manages case load and maintains claims servi! ce standards including 24 hour contact. Maintains contact with! insureds, agents and other interested parties as required on each claim. Pursues subrogation and may arrange for salvage to obtain maximum recovery. Provides assistance to other team members and/or other responsibilities as required. This candidate will work primarily in the Southern CT territory.
Required Skills
Qualified candidates must have effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills, have proven investigative and problem solving skills, as well as customer service excellence. Valid driver's license required. Knowledge of construction is a plus. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in related experience, and the successful candidate must possess or be able to obtain state required adjuster's licenses. Prior claim handling experience is required, field experience is preferred, as is independent study through the IIA, CPCU or the AEI; and active study for or the completion of the Associate in Claims Designation.
