About the Position
College Tutors in Wellesley is looking fo! r MATH AND SCIENCE TUTORS to make a difference in student's lives by helping them reach academic goals! Tutors are needed to work with students in algebra, geometry, trig, statistics, pre-calc, calc, physical science, biology, and chemistry â€" including AP levels in many courses. We have many openings for tutor positions in our Wellesley Learning centers. Hours are flexible to fit in to your schedule and tutor positions will help you build your resume! Tutoring experience is not required, but being an education major or having previous tutoring experience is a bonus!

Positions starting now continuing through! 2013-2014 school year!
Ideally, you will be able to ! work 5-15 hours within the hours of Mon-Thurs 3-9pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sunday 1-5pm. Responsibilities will include: assisting students with coursework and homework, explaining concepts, using school curriculum and textbook as well as College Tutors’ resources to assist in building student’s skill set and acting as a mentor and role model for each student you work with.
Competencies:
- Must enjoy children and have experience (teaching in some capacity; school setting, church setting, daycare setting, formal tutoring experience, etc).
- Be dependable and able to communicate verbally to parents and supervisors. Technology must also be your friend for timecard submission and professional development/training.
- Three references to demonstrate reliability, responsibility, energy and honesty are required.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher and demonstrated competency in subject areas you wish to tutor (demonstr! ated by college transcripts)
- Demonstrate good study habits and skills as evidence by college transcripts.
