At Wayfair, we are looking to grow our Data Technologies team by bringing on board a talented individual to help manage and grow the! infrastructure that supports our large-scale internet e-commerce platform and big data analytics environment. This position will be focused on performing the day to day administrative tasks associated with our three Hadoop clusters. Although focused on Hadoop, this individual will have exposure to a broad range of database technologies including Netezza, Solr, Riak, MongoDB, Memcached, Redis, SQL Server, and MySQL. Some of our current projects include:
Find a replacement for our next generation data warehouse
Implementing a trickle in and near real time analytics architecture
Horizontally scaling our database infrastructure to support our dynamic growth and provide increased redundancy
Research and implement Solr Cloud
Implement MySQL NDB Cluster in a global master â€" master replication topology
Responsibilities include:
Provide day to day support of our Hadoop infrastructure including:
Cluster monitoring and troubleshooting
Manage and r! eview Hadoop log files
Adding and removing cluster nodes
Install Hadoop stack (HDFS, Hive, MapReduce) version updates and patches
Work with BI teams to develop business initiatives and algorithms as they relate to Hadoop
Provide day to day support of our Solr infrastructure (willing to train)
Monitor and troubleshoot replication, performance, and availability
Provide second level On-Call support
Performing all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
BA or BS degree from a 4-year college or university
2 - 4 years of experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) systems and Tomcat based applications and services
Experience working with large-scale analytics environments, such as HDFS and MapReduce, analytic databases like Netezza, Vertica, Paraccel
Thorough understanding of network technology and communication principles
Automated system deployment experience using Puppet/Chef
Strong scripting expertise (Shell, Perl, ! Python)
Experience with Solr a strong plus
Experience with the following technologies are a plus: Hive, Git/SVN, Zabbix, MSSQL, MySQL
