The Pastoral Ministries Manager plans, develops and implements Pastoral Ministries program which focuses on the spiritual life of the community as well as on the nurturing of an inclusive, community wide outreach and fellowship.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide opportunities for residents to meet their individual spiritual needs
Provide support for interfaith services, events and educational opportunities
Work in partnership with each Faith Community and their Leaders to meet their spiritual needs
Recruit, develop and supervise the religious professionals formi! ng the Pastoral Ministries team which includes Faith Community! ministers and the nursing home chaplains
Coordinate with AV/TV Department in creating services and TV broadcasting
Perform spiritual assessments as part of welcoming new residents and those transitioning to Assisted Care or Long-Term Care
Manage all Pastoral Ministries functions, including:
Administration: oversee the staff and funds of the faith communities on campus; be the liaison between the Administration and the religious residents; manage the Pastoral Ministries Budget and the Restricted Funds of the Faith Communities
Worship: provide opportunities for individuals and groups for desired worship services; support the Sunday worship services; preside in appropriate worship contexts
Education: provide opportunities for individuals and groups to learn about religious faiths, spiritual needs and appropriate resident-initiated opportunities
Media: Use various appropriate modern media in services and class! es; oversee the continuing development of TV-918, the dedicated Chapel Channel
Outreach: provide opportunities for individuals and groups to extend themselves to new residents, to residents who are part of no religious tradition, and to residents who are part of the same tradition
Care giving: provide opportunities for individuals and groups to extend themselves to residents with special needs (e.g., serious illness or death)
Oversee the arrangements for funerals and memorials
Organize and lead functions to enhance the atmosphere of outreach and fellowship for those residents not drawn to current pastoral ministries programs
Assess, on an ongoing basis, the quality of life environment to help determine the short and long-term direction of the ministry program.
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
Graduate degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school
Minimum of 5 years of religious leadership and man! agement experience
Strong communication skills, both written and ve! rbal
A demonstrated sense of interfaith networking
Competencies in working with AV, TV and IT processes
